Travelling to Lodz
- FROM WARSAW TO LODZ:
Please note that there have been some minor changes to the travel plan
ARRIVAL AT WARSAW FRYDERYK CHOPIN AIRPORT - OKECIE AIRPORT, WARSAW
The Local Organising Committee will set up an information point between August 24th – 25th at the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Airport - Okecie Airport. It will be located at the arrival terminal. The INFO POINT will assist participants arriving at the airport in choosing the most appropriate means of transportation and getting to Lodz.
The Information Point will open at 6.00a.m. and close at 10.00p.m. on both the days of operation. On Tuesday the Information Point staff will be around until 10.35p.m. when the last shuttle bus will leave.
SHUTTLE BUS
A shuttle bus service will be organized between Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Airport - Okecie Airport and Lodz on August 24th and 25th. We have asked participants to provide us with details of their travel itineraries. After analyzing the data received from the Travel Forms we decided that the optimal bus departures will be at the following times:

There will be a support staff member on every bus who will be able to provide information to participants. Guests at the airport will receive information about the shuttle bus departure time and place and information about alternative ways to get to Lodz.
Transfer takes aprox. 2.5 hours.
BUS
Lodz can also be reached by bus service connecting Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Airport - Okecie airport with Lodz city centre. Below a schedule of buses from WARSAW FRYDERYK CHOPIN AIRPORT- OKECIE AIRPORT is presented. The bus stop is located outside of Terminal 1 building.
WARSAW (WARSAW FRYDERYK CHOPIN AIRPORT - OKECIE AIRPORT) – LODZ CENTRAL STATION (LODZ) Approximate cost of journey – 40 PLN
TRAIN
The train connection between Warsaw and Lodz is the fastest way of travelling between the two cities (taking approx. 85 minutes). Travelling by train should be considered by participants who plan to stay the night over in Warsaw prior to travelling to Lodz.
To use the train connection when arriving by plane you must first get to the city centre. To this end, you must take the bus line 175 from the airport. It will take you to the city centre, where you have to get off at the bus stop called "Dworzec Centralny" (Central Station).
At the train station (‘Warszawa Centralna’) you have to buy a ticket to the station "Lodz Fabryczna".
During the summer trains between Warsaw and “Lodz Fabryczna” run every 2 hours, between 7am and 9 pm. Please check timetable here:
Approximate cost of journey – 50 PLN (1st class) and 35 PLN (2nd class).
TAXI
You can also take a taxi to come to Lodz. The cost of hiring a taxi should be around 400 PLN.
- FROM KRAKOW TO LODZ:
ARRIVAL AT BALICE AIRPORT, KRAKOW
If you fly to Krakow and need to travel to Lodz you can use either bus or train connections.
Firstly, you will need to get from the airport to the city centre. You can use fast railway line to the centre of Krakow. Travel time is 16 minutes. One-way ticket price: 6 PLN (tickets can be purchased on the train). The train station is located 200 m from the T1 international terminal. To travel between the terminals and the train station, we advise you to use the free Shuttle Bus service.

- FROM LODZ AIRPORT TO CITY CENTRE:
ARRIVAL AT WLADYSLAW REYMONT AIRPORT, LODZ
If you arrive by plane directly to Lodz you may use either bus connections or taxis. To get to the city centre by bus please use public transport bus (’L’ line) – it will take you to the LODZ FABRYCZNA train station showed on the map.
However, we strongly recommend that you use taxis between the airport and the hotel. The cost of a trip should be roughly 45 PLN.
