General outline
The University of Lodz campus is able to provide accommodation for congress participants in student hostel number eleven. This hostel has accommodational capacity for 344 people in 175 double rooms (rooms with two, separate single beds). Students hostel number eleven was renovated in 2007-2008 and is conveniently located – in a very peaceful area, less than 700 (10 – 15 min walk) metres from the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz (congress venue). If you wish to stay in a dormitory room, you will need to book it while you register online for the congress through the ERSA registration form ( should be opened by the end of March).
Types and number of rooms
There are 6 single rooms and 169 double rooms (with two, separate single beds) in the hostel. All rooms (single as well as double) are „studio” type, which means there are units of two double rooms which share common kitchen annex and bathroom (shower-cabin, wash-basin, toilet).
Room’s furnishings
The building has no air conditioning. Basic standard furnishing of bedrooms include: bed, bedding, 2 towels per person, toilet-roll ( toiletries are not included). Each room has broadband access to the Internet (university LAN) but there is no wireless access (no WLAN)(please make sure you have a cable of your own). TV and radio equipment is also not available. There are internal telephone lines only. Basic standard of kitchen facilities included: a kitchen cupboard, sink, cutlery, cups and plates, tea bags, coffee, sugar. No refrigerator in kitchen annex. Kettles and urns for making tea and coffee will be provided on the corridors.
Prices:
double room for 2 people: 44 euro
double room for 1 person: 25 euro
If you opt for a double room for two people, you ought to indicate on a registration form a name of the accompanying person you would like to stay with. Please noticed that, if you would like to stay in double room with accompanying person – you have to specify his or her name in the booking form – if not a single room or double room for you only will by booked. The rooms will be booked in accordance to the order of payments: starting from single and after that double room.
Breakfast
Breakfast on 25th – 29th August 2009 are included in the room price. Please notice that breakfast will be served outside the hostel’s building, in the students canteen located 350 meters from the hostel.
